چکیده
RAFT-made poly(ionic liquid) chains (PIL), poly(1-[2-acryloylethyl]-3-methylimidazolium bromide) (Poly [AEmim][Br]), have been mixed with a ionic liquid (IL), namely butylmethylimidazolium chloride ([C4mim][Cl].) The similarities in terms of structure and polarity these molecular macromolecular imidazolium derivatives led to homogeneous transparent solutions. influence the chain molar mass concentration was examined through rheology investigation. It established that steady-shear viscosity solutions, viscoelastic properties can be finely tuned by two parameters temperature. thermal-dependence rheological features allowed for determining high activation energies (Ea) (around 80 kJ/mol), compared analogous PIL aqueous Such Ea values reflect cohesion PIL/IL related formation multiple strong interactions, such as hydrogen bonds, van der Waals forces Coulomb interactions between species. Wide-angle small-angle X-ray scattering experiments well scanning electron microscopy analysis evidenced multi-scale local homogeneity which additionally exhibit conductivity (ca. 10−3 S/cm at 30 °C), measured broadband dielectric spectroscopy.

Extensional rheology of cellulose-ionic liquid solutions
Various cellulose-ionic liquid solutions were measured with a rotational plate-andplate rheometer and a Capillary Break-up Extensional Rheometer (CaBER). Comparison of the shear and extensional rheological properties showed good agreement in some cases. The CaBER, however, seems to be more sensitive to small variations in solute composition. INTRODUCTION Since almost a decade now, nonderivatizi...
متن کاملShear and extensional rheology of cellulose/ionic liquid solutions.
In this study, we characterize the shear and extensional rheology of dilute to semidilute solutions of cellulose in the ionic liquid 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium acetate (EMIAc). In steady shear flow, the semidilute solutions exhibit shear thinning, and the high-frequency complex modulus measured in small amplitude oscillatory shear flow exhibits the characteristic scaling expected for solutions...
متن کاملCharge Transport and Phase Behavior of Imidazolium-Based Ionic Liquid Crystals from Fully Atomistic Simulations
Ionic liquid crystals occupy an intriguing middle ground between room-temperature ionic liquids and mesostructured liquid crystals. Here, we examine a non-polarizable, fully atomistic model of the 1-alkyl-3-methylimidazolium nitrate family using molecular dynamics in the constant pressure-constant temperature ensemble. These materials exhibit a distinct "smectic" liquid phase, characterized by ...

Room-temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) have unique properties, such as extremely low vapor pressure, thermal stability, nonflammability, high polarity, and electroconductivity. However, their high viscosity is a serious problem for application of ionic liquids in many fields. Thus, RT-ILs are frequently used by mixing with conventional molecular liquids, such as water, methanol, and acetonitril...
